This week: PGA Tour’s Farmers Insurance Open, Thursday through Sunday, Torrey Pines North and South Courses, San Diego

Stanley’s fourth-round score: 4-over-par on the South Course.

Position: Stanley (even-par 288) finished tied for 51st, 16 strokes behind winner Bubba Watson (272).

Recap: The South Course is a brutal layout on its own merit – and punishing if a golfer isn’t sharp, which Stanley (five bogeys, one double bogey) was not Sunday. And he was 3-over after three holes when on the downhill par-3 third, he blasted his second shot from a front greenside bunker over the green and into deep grass, leading to his only double bogey of the week.

Next: The Waste Management Phoenix Open starting Thursday at TPC Scottsdale – although as of now, he’s an alternate to get into the field.
