Ryan Moore at Deutsche Bank Championship, 3rd Rd.

This week: PGA Tour’s Deutsche Bank Championship, Friday through Sunday, TPC Boston, Norton, Mass.

Third-round score: 1-under-par 70.

Position: Moore (3-under 210) is tied for 41st, 14 strokes behind leader Jason Day (196).

Recap: A late-round rally, capped by a pair of birdies, helped turn in an under-par round. His 9-iron on the par-3 17th left him a sizable putt, which he made from nearly 20 feet. The next hole, a par-4, the Puyallup golfer almost canned his approach shot from the fairway, and he tapped in a 3-footer for birdie.

Tee time Monday: 7:15 a.m. PDT with Tim Petrovic.

Ryan Moore at Deutsche Bank Championship, 2nd Rd.

This week: PGA Tour’s Deutsche Bank Championship, Friday through Monday, TPC Boston, Norton, Mass.

Second-round score: 5-over-par 76.

Position: Moore (2-under 140) is tied for 56th, 10 strokes behind co-leaders Jason Day and Brandt Snedeker (130).

Recap: In a day, the Puyallup saw not only a 12-stroke differential in his score (shot 64 Friday), but his drop down the leaderboard now makes it imperative that if he can’t get back into the top 15 later in this tournament, he has to at least post a top-10 finish at next week’s BMW Championship to get into the Tour Championship later this

Ryan Moore at Deutsche Bank Championship, 1st Rd.

This week: PGA Tour’s Deutsche Bank Championship, Friday through Monday, TPC Boston, Norton, Mass.

First-round score: 7-under-par 64.

Position: Moore is tied for third, one stroke behind co-leaders Jason Day and Zach Johnson (63).

Recap: It was the Puyallup golfer’s lowest round of the season, eclipsing the final-round 65 he shot in a runner-up finish at the AT&T National in July. And this round was a bit of a surprise considering Moore has never really played well on this course, at least until Friday (seven birdies, no bogeys). He hit all 18 greens in regulation, and his round started off

Ryan Moore at Deutsche Bank Championship, preview

This week: PGA Tour’s Deutsche Bank Championship, Friday through Monday, TPC Boston, Norton, Mass.

World ranking: 47th.

2010 earnings: $1.79 million (34th on the PGA Tour).

Last tournament: For the first time all season, the Puyallup golfer has missed the cut in back-to-back events, including last week’s The Barclays (3-over 145), which was the opening stop of the FedEx Cup playoffs. Because of it, Moore fell a few spots to 47th in the playoff chase, and needs either two solid showings (a pair of top 15s, for example, here and at next week’s BMW Championship) or one really big run
