This week: PGA Tour’s BMW Championship, Thursday through Sunday, Cog Hill Golf and Country Club, Lemont, Ill.
Fourth-round score: 2-over-par 73.
Position: Moore (6-under 278) tied for third, two strokes behind winner Dustin Johnson (276).
Recap: The Puyallup golfer did not get the win, but he still accomplished something big-time – he earned a spot at The Tour Championship in two weeks, reserved for the top 30 players remaining in the playoffs (he goes in as the No. 26 seed), and guaranteeing him a spot in all four majors in 2011. Moore started Sunday with 10 consecutive pars before his drive on the par-5 11th deflected off a spectator out of bounds, leading to a double bogey.
Moore quotable: “I was actually pretty proud of how I played today, other than didn’t get a lot out of my round, and that always kills you to bogey the last hole there. But it’s going to get me into Atlanta, so that’s at least a little bonus at the end.”
Next: The Tour Championship starting Sept. 23 at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga.
