As previously discussed, the Washington Open Invitational in May will be changed to a professional-amateur format.
The pro can win the championship title.
The amateur can help capture a team crown.
So, the folks in the Allenmore Golf Course pro shop – head pro Don Mojean, in particular – have gotten creative in finding the amateur partner for assistant pro Taylor Ferris for next month’s Washington Open.
The course is holding a qualifying tournament.
Since the amateur entry fee for the Washington Open is nearly $900, the net winner of the qualifying tournament April 10-11 will have his costs paid for.
Entrants for the qualifying tournament will play 18 holes, and pay $25 for the opportunity.
The low net winner will play with Ferris at the Washington Open on May 16-19 at Glendale Country Club in Bellevue.
Spots for the 36-player qualifying tournament at Allenmore are still available. If interested, contact the pro shop at (253) 627-7211.
