This week: PGA Tour’s Mayakoba Classic, Thursday through Sunday, El Camaleon Golf Club, Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico

First-round score: 1-under-par 70.

Position: Stanley is tied for 47th, six strokes behind leader Joe Durant (64).

Recap: The back nine was an adventure, to say the least, for the Gig Harbor resident. He had one par – on the 13th hole – but sat at 4-under after making birdie on one of the course’s most difficult holes, the 521-yard, par-4 16th. But Stanley found a limestone canal on the next hole, and made a double bogey, and had another bogey on the finishing hole as well, both par-4s.

Tee time Friday: 10:55 a.m. PST off the 10th tee.
