This is the sort of rag-tag schedule Gig Harbor’s Kyle Stanley will likely be playing in 2010, all in an effort to obtain PGA Tour status.
Some weeks, he’ll play on the eGolf Professional Tour (formerly the Tar Heel mini-tour) in South Carolina.
Other weeks, such as the past two weeks overseas, he’ll tee it up on the Nationwide Tour after he earned partial status for finishing in the top 200 on the PGA Tour money list in 2009.
And this week, the Clemson All-American from Bellarmine Prep was one of six golfers given a sponsor’s exemption to play in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in northern California.
He made 5-of-7 cuts in PGA Tour events last season. His last start was a tied-for-27th at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospital Open in October.
