This week: PGA Tour’s Bob Hope Classic, Wednesday through Sunday, PGA West Nicklaus and Palmer Courses, SilverRock Resort and La Quinta, CC, La Quinta, Calif.

Third-round score: 6-under-par 66 at Palmer Course.

Position: Moore (14-under 202) is tied for ninth, trailing fellow Washington product Alex Prugh, of Spokane (195), by seven strokes.

Recap: The Puyallup golfer lost ground early, but had a scorching back nine (five birdies, no bogeys) to move up eight spots on the field. He birdies both par-3s on that side, and had a pair of tap-in birdies on two of the par-5s, including a two-putt birdie

This week: PGA Tour’s Bob Hope Classic, Wednesday through Sunday, PGA West Nicklaus and Palmer Courses, SilverRock Resort and La Quinta CC, La Quinta, Calif.

Second-round score: 5-under-par 67 at SilverRock.

Position: Moore (8-under 136) is tied for 17th, eight strokes behind leader Bubba Watson (128).

Recap: A day of waiting because of the rain, and then the Puyallup golfer comes out firing Friday in the second round (five birdies, no bogeys) on the most difficult course in the rotation he’ll play this week.

Tee time Saturday: 10:36 a.m. PST off the Palmer Course’s first tee.

Position: Moore is tied for 39th, seven strokes behind leader Shane Bertsch, who shot 62 at the Nicklaus Course.

World ranking: 47th.

2010 earnings: $208,333 (tied for 12th on PGA Tour).

Last tournament: The Puyallup golfer had a stellar showing in the winners-only SBS Championship (17-under 275) where he tied for sixth in his first appearance in Maui. He briefly held the second-round lead, and registered three rounds in the 60s (69, 68, 68). After taking last week’s Sony Open off, he moved up four spots in the official world rankings.

This week: PGA Tour’s SBS Championship, Thursday through Sunday, Kapalua Resort’s Plantation Course, Maui, Hawaii.

First-round score: 4-under-par 69.

Position: Moore is tied for 11th, three strokes behind leader Lucas Glover.

Recap: The Puyallup golfer started his 2010 campaign in grand fashion, making a birdie on his first hole – the 520-yard, par-4 No. 1 hole, unleashing a 355-yard drive and finishing it off with a 14-foot putt. He had three more birdies on the back nine, and had no bogeys.

First tournament: For the first time in a long time, not since his summer of 2005, there is a buzz surrounding the Puyallup golfer, who won for the first time last season at the Wyndham Championship.
