This week: PGA Tour’s Farmers Insurance Open, Thursday through Sunday, Torrey Pines South Course, San Diego

Fourth-round score: 3-over-par 75.

Position: Putnam (3-under 285) tied for 37th. Fellow Northwest product Ben Crane (275) won by one stroke over three golfers.

Recap: The Tacoma golfer simply ran out of gas midway through the final round of his first PGA Tour event in more than two years – and that’s understandable. The Life Christian Academy graduate got to 7-under after his birdie on the eighth hole, but his bogey a hole later began a five-bogey-in-seven-hole string, ending his hopes of a top-10 finish. Putnam did hear a paycheck of $23,850.

Next: Qualifying round today for the Northern Trust Open, which starts Thursday at Riviera Country Club near Los Angeles.
