This week: PGA Tour’s Farmers Insurance Open, Thursday through Sunday, Torrey Pines North and South Courses, San Diego.

World rankings: Moore is 46th; Putnam 789th.

Moore’s 2010 earnings: $323,333 (11th on PGA Tour).

Last tournament: Two starts for Moore, two top-10 finishes for the Puyallup golfer. All five rounds he posted in his tied-for-10th at the Bob Hope Classic were in the 60s, and his place moved him up one spot on the official world golf rankings. Moore likes Torrey Pines, but has missed the cut at this tournament in three of his four appearances. … Not since a tied-for-45th at the 2007 Ginn sur Mer Classic in late October has Putnam played a PGA Tour event. In fact, he was waiting to get into the Nationwide Tour event in New Zealand this week (where Gig Harbor’s Kyle Stanley is playing), but decided to try and earn a spot at the Farmers Insurance Open at a Monday qualifier instead, and did by shooting a 5-under-par 67 to take the third of four spots.

Moore’s tee time Thursday: 10 a.m. PST off North’s first tee with Martin Laird and Andres Romero.

Putnam’s tee time Thursday: 9:20 a.m. PST off South’s first tee with Matt Jones and Roger Tambellini.
