Puyallup’s Ryan Moore is a PGA Tour winner at last.

Perhaps overdue after sweeping aside amateur golf in the summer of
2004 by winning every major tournament, Moore survived a three-man,
three-hole playoff Sunday to win the Wyndham Championship in
Greensboro, N.C.

He rolled in a 9-foot birdie putt on the 507-yard, par-4 18th after
hitting an exquisite 6-iron from 181 yards out from the right side of
the fairway to defeat Kevin Stadler, who ended up making a bogey.

Jason Bohn was the third member of the sudden-death extra session, but he bogeyed the 18th hole when the trio began the playoff.

Moore was solid all throughout the playoff. He had a chance to win
on the first playoff hole, but his 13-foot birdie chance drifted right.
Stadler got up-and-down from a greenside bunker to match Moore’s par.

  1. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. Now that he finally got his first tour win out of the way, I really expect to see him flourish.

    Congratulations, Ryan.

Didn’t this guy lose to a couple of TNT reporters in a putting contest? He’s clearly come along way.

  4. ttengesdal says:

Wonderful Win!! Even if it did take 112 attempts (Kind of a back door acknowledgement). Watch out Tiger!
