Recap: This is a course to make birdies on. Only 25
of the 156 golfers didn’t break par, so that was the good news for the
Pierce County products. Moore, the Puyallup golfer, opened with a par-5
bogey, then made four birdies the rest of the way, including three on
par-5 holes. … Kelly, a Tacoma native, was headed for an over-par round
after bogeys at Nos. 2 and 6, but made up for it when he made a 52-foot
birdie putt for eagle on the par-5 seventh.
