This week: PGA Tour’s Mayakoba Golf Classic, Thursday through Sunday, El Camaleon, Riviera Maya, Mexico.
World ranking: 1,169th.
2009 earnings: $11,178 (185th on the PGA Tour).
Last tournament: Kelly, the Tacoma native, hasn’t
made a cut since opening with a tied-for-65th at the Sony Open in
mid-January. Since then, he’s missed three cuts in a row – with five of
his past six rounds scoring 75 or higher. The University of Washington
product had last week off, and comes into an even he certainly cash in,
considering it is opposite of the World Match Play Championship. The
field for this tournament has gotten considerably stronger with former
major championship winners such as Rich Beem, Lee Janzen, Tom Lehman,
Corey Pavin, David Toms and Bob Tway playing this week.
Tee time Thursday: 10:45 a.m. PST off the first tee with Mauricio Azcue and Matt Weibring.
