This week: Nationwide Tour’s Bank of America Open, Thursday through Sunday, The Glen Club, Glenview, Ill.

Second-round score: 2-over-par 74.

Position: Putnam (1-over 145) missed the cut by three strokes, and was tied for 99th. Skip Kendall leads at 11-under 133.

Recap: The Tacoma native rode the “bogey” train
(Nos. 2, 6, 11, 15 and 16) out of his fourth consecutive tournament,
missing the cut again. The Life Christian Academy product did finish
with back-to-back birdies, including one out of the greenside bunker on
the par-5 18th, but it was too little, too late.

Next: U.S. Open sectional qualifier Monday in
Columbus, Ohio, but he’s planning on skipping the Nationwide event, The
Rex Hospital Open, starting Thursday at the TPC Wakefield Plantation in
Raleigh, N.C.
