It’s Danny Bonaduce day in Puyallup – where the mayor hunts Bigfoot

“The Partridge Family” star and Seattle DJ Danny Bonaduce premiered his Syfy network movie about Bigfoot Wednesday night at the Liberty Theater in Puyallup.

Why Puyallup? I asked Bonaduce that as he was about to take the stage. “Because I’m the mayor. That’s actually semi-factual,” Bonaduce said. The crowd began to chant, “Danny! Danny! Danny!”

Apparently, Bonaduce has taken to proclaiming himself the mayor of the Pierce County city on his KZOK 102.5 radio show. So he was a little surprised when the real mayor of Puyallup, Rick Hansen, walked on stage.

But Hansen wasn’t mad. He had

Danny Partridge and Greg Brady duke it out over Bigfoot in Puyallup

Who would have thought that little Danny Partridge and Greg Brady would one day grow up to become Bigfoot hunters?

Well, it’s happening Wednesday night at the Liberty Theater in Puyallup when KZOK radio host Danny Bonaduce premieres his film, “Bigfoot.” Bonaduce stars along with Barry Williams (“The Brady Bunch”) as two rival Bigfoot hunters. One is a DJ and the other is a conservationist.

Sherilyn Fenn (“Twin Peaks”), Howard Hesseman (“WKRP in Cincinnati”), Andre Royo (“The Wire”) and rocker Alice Cooper co-star in

Washington State History Museum to get haunted

The past really will come alive this fall at the Washington State History Museum. More precisely, it will become undead.

“Terror in Tacoma” will take over the museum from Thursday, Oct. 25 to Saturday Oct. 27. It’s a haunted house being put on by the museum as a fundraiser.

Don’t expect history lessons here, said Scott Schoenen, director of marketing for the museum. “Our objective is to terrorize you,” he said.

The event will be on multiple floors and take over part of the permanent gallery. The haunted house will be in the evening after the museum

Syfy launches a hot steaming pile of goo at Seattle

The Syfy network debuts its latest feature tonight: “Seattle Superstorm.” No, it’s not the Sue Bird story. It’s a science-fiction movie about a UFO-induced storm that socks it to Seattle.

I watched a preview of it yesterday at Emerald City Comicon. I’m still left wondering exactly why Syfy chose to show it in Seattle. I guess they figured Seattle folk would be on the edge of their seats as the drama unfolded.

Instead the crowd laughed at the cheap special effects, the geographical errors, the (unintentional) comedic dialogue and the hammy acting.

But I can’t blame the actors.
