Puyallup’s Spring Fair starts on Thursday

Music-making and NASCAR are the themes of two new attractions at this weekend’s vernal version of the Puyallup Fair which swings open its gates at 2 p.m. Thursday.

While some of the action is happening only Friday through Sunday there are still plenty of reasons to head over on Thursday. First: admission is free all day to anyone 18 or younger. The Fair just asks that you bring a non-perishable food donation for the Puyallup Food Bank.

Up for a good scare? The Extreme Scream is only $7.50 on Thursday ($3 off the usual $10.50 price.) Top it all off

Big Time Rush and Cody Simpson to play Puyallup Fair Sept. 17

Big Time Rush

What started as fiction has become reality. The boy band sensation Big Time Rush will perform at the Puyallup Fair on Sept. 17. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 10.

Big Time Rush got its start on the popular Nickelodeon show, cut an album and were recently nominated for the “Favorite Group” in the Kid’s Choice Awards. I’m not actually sure if they perform as themselves or their characters. But, who cares? The pre-teen girls love them and that’s all that matters. My three nieces are glued to the tube every time their show is on.

Big Time Rush with Cody Simpson will perform on Monday, Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m. Find tickets on the Fair website, www.thefair.com/concerts or by phone 888-559-3247. To save the convenience charges, purchase tickets in person at the Puyallup Fair & Events Center box office at 9th Avenue SW and Meridian Street on Saturdays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Ticket prices are $60 for Golden Circle, $50, $40 and $30. All seats are reserved and include Fair gate admission.
