Steve Smith, Canada’s ‘Red Green,’ coming to Pantages on July 18

You might better know Canadian comedian Steve Smith as his alter ego, “Red Green” – the handyman who has never met a problem that can’t be fixed with duct tape.

Reruns of his wacky comedy show air nightly on Tacoma’s KBTC public television.

He’s now on a North American stand-up comedy tour that’s coming to the Pantages Theater in downtown Tacoma on July 18.

Vintage Tacoma baseball on the tube

The history of baseball in Tacoma is almost as old as the city itself. KBTC general manager David Hinman explored that history to produce “Invincible: Baseball In Tacoma” which first airs May 23 on Tacoma public television station KBTC.

The new 60-minute documentary highlights Tacoma’s professional and amateur baseball history dating back to 1874. The program’s title comes from Tacoma’s first baseball team, the 1874 Invincibles. They lasted all of twelve days, Hinman says.
