Kal Penn to narrate ‘Fantastic Journey’ at the Paramount

You might know actor Kal Pann as cinematic stoner Kumar or, in real life, as an Obama adiministration director. On June 6 he takes on the role of narrator when he takes the stage at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre for the West Coast Premiere of “Icarus at the Edge of Time.”

Penn is joining the Seattle Science Festival as the narrator for the opening night’s performance of the multimedia work.

Penn is perhaps best known for playing the role of Kumar in the “Harold and Kumar” film series. He also portrayed Dr. Kutner in TV’s “House.” Penn left acting

Broadway Center announces 2013-14 season

The Broadway Center for the Performing Arts announced its 2013-14 season today. Member tickets and multi-show packages are on sale now with single ticket sales starting July 8.

The BCPA will be celebrating its 30th anniversary season with over 40 events coming to Tacoma’s Theater District.

Here’s the 2013-14 season in chronological order:

Missed ‘Book of Mormon?’ It’s coming back in 2014

After selling out its two week January run in Seattle “The Book of Mormon” is coming back to Seattle’s Paramount Theatre in July, 2014.

Yes, that’s next year. Meanwhile, the show is still playing on Broadway. So, if you can’t wait you might want to book those tickets to JFK. Just be sure to get the musical’s tickets before you book your flight. It’s sold out three months in advance.

The Seattle performances run July 22 to August 10, 2014. The public ticket sale date has not been announced.

Broadway Center announces its 2012-13 season

David Sedaris, TEDx, Wayne Brady, Roberta Flack, August Wilson plays, Alfred Hitchcock films and “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding” – they are just some of the 40 events in the just announced 2012-13 season at Broadway Center. Theater, dance, comedy, music and films are all represented.

Member tickets and multi-show packages are on sale now. Single tickets go on sale July 16.

‘The Book of Mormon’ and ‘War Horse’ coming to Paramount

The Broadway smash hit “The Book of Mormon” is coming to The Paramount Theater early next year. It’s part of the 2012/2013 KeyBank Broadway at The Paramount season announced this week.

2013 starts with “Mormon” on January 8. The winner of nine 2011 Tony Awards, tickets for the production in New York sell out three months in advance. The musical is the brainchild of “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and “Avenue Q” co-creator Robert Lopez.

The musical’s story has two clean cut Mormon missionaries traveling to Uganda where they meet all sorts of characters that challenge
