Justin Bieber coming to Tacoma in October

Bieber fever will hit Tacoma this fall.

Pop singer Justin Bieber will perform at 7 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Tacoma Dome. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. June 2 through Ticketmaster. Tickets will cost $39.50-$89.50, according to Ticketmaster’s website.

Members of Bieber’s fan club can buy during a presale that starts at noon today (May 23) through bieberfever.com. American Express will offer a presale for cardholders May 24-31.

Bieber’s fourth studio album, “Believe,” will be released June 19. His concert tour will include singer Carly Rae Jepsen.

The Spittin’ Cobras and Rev. Horton Heat at Hell’s Kitchen on Friday

Seattle’s The Spittin’ Cobras will be in Tacoma on Friday, May 18 at Hell’s Kitchen with the Reverend Horton Heat.

The band is hitting the road after the release of their debut album, Year Of The Cobra. Earlier this year they teamed up with The Supersuckers, the self-proclaimed greatest rock-n-roll band in the world, and are now hooked up with the Reverend Horton Heat.

Members of The Dwarves, KMFDM, and Murdock make up The Cobras. They cites Black Sabbath, The Stooges, AC/DC, Thin Lizzy, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, and Nirvana as influences.

Moms and more at Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium this weekend

Moms get half-price admission to Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium on Saturday, May 12. But that’s only one reason to head up to the park.

Coming to the Tacoma Dome for Van Halen? Here’s your guide to downtown, including parking information

Van Halen will rock the Tacoma Dome on Saturday night, but anyone whose attended a concert at the Dome knows parking can be a challenge.

Concert-goers should consider parking away from the Dome, throughout downtown, and riding the Link light rail in.

Sound Transit said this morning that the Link will operate on extended hours Saturday for the concert. The last train will leave the Tacoma Dome Station at 11:48 p.m. instead of the usual 10 p.m.

Indy film shooting in Tacoma stars Michael Pitt of HBO’s ‘Boardwalk Empire’

A film about an outlaw hobo starring Hollywood actor Michael Pitt is filming in Tacoma through Thursday.

“You Can’t Win” features Pitt, one of the stars of HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire,” and Hannah Marks of this year’s “The Amazing Spider-Man.”

The film is an adaptation of a 1926 autobiography by hobo and burglar Jack Black. Filming with Pitt is taking place in and around Old City Hall now through May 3.

Vicci Martinez to perform new single on ‘The Voice’ tonight

Tacoma’s Vicci Martinez will perform her new single duet with Cee Lo Green, “Come Along,” on NBC’s “The Voice” tonight.

Green was Martinez’s coach during last season on which she placed third.

“Come Along” is the title track of her new four song EP out today. It’s the precursor to the June 19 release of her debut LP, Vicci, through Universal Republic Records. Two days before, on Sunday, June 17, she will be performing at Jazzbones in Tacoma. Details are below.

The Grizzled Mighty play Harmon Tap Room on Saturday

Seattle-based The Grizzled Mighty is hooking up with Tacoma’s Voxxy Vallejo and Cottonwood Cutups at the Harmon Tap Room on Saturday for an 8 p.m. show.

The Grizzled Mighty is a Blues Rock duo made up of lead singer/guitarist Ryan Granger and drummer, Whitney Petty (formerly of Deerhunter). Their style has been compared to The White Stripes, Black Keys and The Kills.

Linkin Park and Incubus to play Tacoma Dome Sept. 5

The Tacoma Dome just announced that Linkin Park and Incubus are coming to the big round building – part of the 2012 Honda Civic Tour – on Wednesday, September 5 for a 5:30 p.m. show.
