Beware of flying reptiles: ‘Train Your Dragon’ in Tacoma Dec. 6-9

Fire-breathing dragons will soar through the Tacoma Dome when Dreamworks brings its “How To Train Your Dragon Live” to town Dec. 6-9.

Following a popular launch in Australia and New Zealand the show’s U.S. tour will fly into Tacoma for seven shows. Tickets are on sale now here.

Created by DreamWorks Animation (the makers of “Shrek” and “Madagascar”) and Global Creatures (the masterminds behind “Walking with Dinosaurs”) “How To Train Your Dragon Live” was inspired by the movie of the same name.

Lady Gaga fills in the details on her Tacoma show

We announced a few days ago that Lady Gaga was bringing her 2013 tour to the Tacoma Dome. Now we have the official details on the Born This Way Ball.

She kicks off the tour in Vancouver on Jan. 11 and then hits Tacoma on Monday, Jan. 14. Tickets go On Sale Friday, Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. at

Lady Gaga coming to Tacoma Dome on Jan. 14

Grammy-winning singer Lady Gaga announced today that she will perform Jan. 14, 2013, at the Tacoma Dome.

The North American leg of Gaga’s “Born This Way Ball” tour kicks off Jan. 11 in Vancouver, B.C., at the Rogers Arena. The second stop of the tour is the Tacoma show.

No additional details, including ticket prices or when tickets go on sale, were announced. According to the Seattle Times, producer Live Nation will release more information on Sept. 18.

The last time Lady Gaga performed at the Tacoma Dome was Aug. 21, 2010.

Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey brings ‘Barnum Bash’ to the Tacoma Dome in August

The circus is coming to town. We’re not talking the Shriners or politicians. The circus: Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey

From Aug. 17-19 Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey will present “Barnum Bash” at the Tacoma Dome.

Tickets go on sale July 16 at 10 a.m.

Justin Bieber coming to Tacoma in October

Bieber fever will hit Tacoma this fall.

Pop singer Justin Bieber will perform at 7 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Tacoma Dome. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. June 2 through Ticketmaster. Tickets will cost $39.50-$89.50, according to Ticketmaster’s website.

Members of Bieber’s fan club can buy during a presale that starts at noon today (May 23) through American Express will offer a presale for cardholders May 24-31.

Bieber’s fourth studio album, “Believe,” will be released June 19. His concert tour will include singer Carly Rae Jepsen.

Coming to the Tacoma Dome for Van Halen? Here’s your guide to downtown, including parking information

Van Halen will rock the Tacoma Dome on Saturday night, but anyone whose attended a concert at the Dome knows parking can be a challenge.

Concert-goers should consider parking away from the Dome, throughout downtown, and riding the Link light rail in.

Sound Transit said this morning that the Link will operate on extended hours Saturday for the concert. The last train will leave the Tacoma Dome Station at 11:48 p.m. instead of the usual 10 p.m.

Linkin Park and Incubus to play Tacoma Dome Sept. 5

The Tacoma Dome just announced that Linkin Park and Incubus are coming to the big round building – part of the 2012 Honda Civic Tour – on Wednesday, September 5 for a 5:30 p.m. show.

Tickets for the show, which includes Mutemath, go on sale Saturday, April 28 at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster.


Elmo will be making music in Tacoma May 11-13

It’s monsters making music when Sesame Street Live brings “Elmo Makes Music” to Tacoma May 11-13. Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Big Bird and their “Sesame Street” friends will be in town along with a new feature: the Play Zone. Tickets are now on sale.

Sesame Street itself comes alive when The Play Zone opens one hour before the shows. It allows your young “Sesame Street” fan to sit in Big Bird’s nest, hang out in Oscar’s trash can and have other “Street” experiences.
