Coming to the Tacoma Dome for Van Halen? Here’s your guide to downtown, including parking information

Van Halen will rock the Tacoma Dome on Saturday night, but anyone whose attended a concert at the Dome knows parking can be a challenge.

Concert-goers should consider parking away from the Dome, throughout downtown, and riding the Link light rail in.

Sound Transit said this morning that the Link will operate on extended hours Saturday for the concert. The last train will leave the Tacoma Dome Station at 11:48 p.m. instead of the usual 10 p.m.

Journey, Pat Benatar, Loverboy headed to the Gorge

It’s going to be a 70s love fest when Journey joins Pat Benatar and Loverboy at the Gorge Amphitheater on July 28. Tickets go on sale Saturday.

In the 70s and 80s it was nearly impossible to turn on a radio without hearing Benatar’s “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” Loverboy’s “Working For The Weekend” or any number of chart-topping hits from Journey.

Journey may have lost lead singer Steve Perry but if you haven’t stopped believin’ you’ll hardly notice the difference with Arnel Pineda in the front man spot. The Philippines-born singer was discovered on YouTube
