Broadway Center announces 2013-14 season

The Broadway Center for the Performing Arts announced its 2013-14 season today. Member tickets and multi-show packages are on sale now with single ticket sales starting July 8.

The BCPA will be celebrating its 30th anniversary season with over 40 events coming to Tacoma’s Theater District.

Here’s the 2013-14 season in chronological order:

Vicci Martinez looking for video shoot extras

Tacoma singer-songwriter Vicci Martinez will be shooting a music video in Seattle on Sunday and wants you in it. If you are 18-35 years old.

An announcement was posted on her Facebook page today:

Vicci is inviting a small group of her fans to help her out. She is looking for 20 – 25 men and women, between the ages of 18 and 35 to come make her video a successful one. Hell’s Kitchen will be reborn as The Loch’s

The space that held longtime nightclub Hell’s Kitchen will reopen on Friday, Sept. 7 as The Loch’s.

I spoke with new owner and former Hell’s Kitchen booker Lonnie Reed today. He said The Loch’s will feature a wider spectrum of acts than its predecessor.

“We wanted to do something more welcoming – to any genre of music,” Reed said.

Hell’s Kitchen closed its doors at 928 Pacific Ave. in late June when its four owners could not financially sustain the business. It had been a fixture on the Tacoma music scene for 10 years.

Free Thursday concert series begins tonight at Uptown Gig Harbor

Gig Harbor shopping center Uptown Gig Harbor begins a free summer concert series today. The Shy Boys kick off the concerts which will run every Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. through Aug. 23.

Also at UGH (sorry, couldn’t resist) is a Saturday farmers market (8:30 a.m.-2 p.m.) and on July 25: Girl’s Night Out featuring a raffle and drink specials at Blazing Onion.

Coldplay announces KeyArena concert on April 25

Live Nation announced today that Coldplay is coming to KeyArena on April 25 as part of their North American tour. It’s the band’s first tour here in nearly three years.

Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. and are available at 1-800-745-3000, Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com.

In the meantime watch “Coldplay New Year’s Eve: An Austin City Limits Special” which will air on PBS Stations on December 31.
