Former Las Vegas performer and current Puyallup resident Larry G Jones is a master of impersonations. He’s also a cancer survivor.

On Saturday he’ll perform in ‘Laugh Towards A Cure’ – a cancer benefit comedy show. Jones sings and acts his way through 75 superstar singers and celebrities in this family-friendly show.

From Cher to Willie Nelson to Sammy Davis, Jr. he covers an astonishing variety of performers in his one-man “Legendary Voices in Concert.” The 90-minute show will be held in the 300-seat indoor theater at Meridian Habitat Park.

Dave Coulier at Tacoma Comedy Club tonight through Saturday

“Full House” star Dave Coulier will be performing his stand-up act tonight, Friday and Saturday at the Tacoma Comedy Club. We had a chat on Monday about clean comedy, his co-stars and that infamous Alanis Morissette song.

Here’s the story (and stay tuned next week for interviews with “Star Trek’s” George Takei and Jon Bernthal from “The Walking Dead”):

By Craig Sailor
Staff writer

For eight years in the late ’80s and early ’90s, America knew Dave Coulier as “Uncle Joey” on the hit ABC TV sitcom “Full House” – the stand-up comedian with the funny lines, voices

Alysia Wood brings her comedy and new album to Stonegate

Former Seattle comic Alysia Wood is celebrating her debut comedy album on Monday at Tacoma’s Stonegate.

Wood’s comedy is self deprecating and skewers her own dysfunctional family. She was on season five of “Last Comic Standing” and was named America’s Next Funniest Comedian in 2010. Her new CD, Princess, is being produced by Grammy award-winning producer Dan Schlissel.

You can watch a video of her stand-up here.

Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein are bringing their hit IFC comedy show, “Portlandia” on a six city tour in December.

I’ll readily admit to being a huge fan of the irreverent send up of the oh-so-precious alternative culture of our neighbor to the south. It’s made, “Bird a bird on it!” a minor cultural catchphrase.

Tickets went on sale today for the tour which kicks off in Portland on Dec. 27 and hits Seattle the next day. Other stops include Los Angeles, Chicago and New York.

Joan Rivers delivers at Pantages

Review

Getting old isn’t easy as Joan Rivers pointed out Friday night in ways that can’t easily be described here. That was after she had thrown any old people out of her audience.

Nobody actually left. It was all part of her act. True to form, the 78 year old comedian brought her ribald humor in full force to a receptive audience at Tacoma’s Pantages Theater.
