If you’re a fan of rare and collectible cars you’ll have three chances to see them (or bring yours) to Gig Harbor this summer.

Here are the details:

First up is “Wheels on the Water” – part of the annual Maritime Gig Festival on Sunday, June 2 from 12:30-4 p.m. This classic car “park-in” venue will be held in downtown Gig Harbor along Harborview Drive from Rosedale Street to Pioneer Way. Register your car now to make sure you get a spot. $10 fee for cars but the event is free to the public. All makes and models welcome with Dash Plaques for the first 50 recipients. Trophies will be awarded in 10 different categories. Enjoy a day of entertainment, cars and all the tradition the Maritime Gig brings. Learn more at www.maritimegig.com.

“Wings & Wheels” will fly into the Narrows Airport on Saturday, July 6 from 11 a.m-5 p.m. It’s an aviation event with a car show – featuring bi-plane rides, helicopter rides, amazing cars and aircraft, and the Smoke ‘N’ Thunder Jet Dragster making a 300 mph run down the runway. The cost for adults 18 and older – $15, seniors and military ID card holders – $10, kids 6 to 17: $5 and kids five and under are free. More details can be found at www.freedomfair.com.

In August the classic cars return for Gig Harbor’s favorite “Cruise the Narrows Classic Car Show” Sunday, August 4 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at Uptown Gig Harbor. This year’s featured vehicle is the Chevrolet SSR pick-up. Admission is $15 per vehicle entered and visitors are free. Proceeds from the show go to the Gig Harbor Cruisers High School Scholarship fund. Organized annually by Gig Harbor’s own Gig Harbor Cruiser Car Club, the event is enjoyed by hundreds each year. Spend the weekend and enjoy farmers market, art walk, outdoor movies and much more. For more information: www.gigharborcruisers.com.
