Leslie Jordan and Seattle Men’s Chorus take on ABBA

The Seattle Men’s Chorus is bringing back Emmy Award-Winning Actor/Comedian Leslie Jordan for their spring concert, “Dancing Queen: The Music of ABBA” on April 6 and 7.

The chorus, minus Jordan, will also perform in Olympia and Bremerton.

The diminutive Jordan, who rose to fame as Beverley Leslie on the hit sitcom “Will & Grace,” will bring tales and musings from his latest autobiographical play, “Fruit Fly.” The family-friendly comedy-music show will include ABBA hits “Waterloo,” “Fernando,” “Take a Chance on Me” and “Dancing Queen” and lesser known songs.

Polar plunge fundraiser, anime festival, aviation conference, gold and gem show and other happenings this weekend

Help support the fundraising effort organized by law enforcement agencies throughout the state at the Special Oympics Polar Plunge at 9 a.m. today. Bruno Mars coming to KeyArena July 21

Pop music sensation Bruno Mars will bring his world tour to Seattle’s KeyArena on July 21. Ellie Goulding will share the stage with him.

Ticket sale dates have not yet been announced for “The Moonshine Jungle World Tour.” A promo video for the tour is viewable here.

Git-R-Done at the Puyallup Fair

Larry the Cable Guy will Git-R-Done at the newly renamed Washington State Fair (otherwise known as the Puyallup Fair) in September.

Larry (real name: Daniel Whitney) will bring his brand of blue collar humor and his signature catchphrase, “Git-R-Done” in his stand-up act on Sept. 19.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show go on sale on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Puyallup’s SHEBEAR headed to EMP’s Sound Off finals

Puyallup-based pop band SHEBEAR will join The Fame Riot in EMP’s Sound Off! finals on March 2 after winning the second of three semifinal competitions last weekend.

Like The Fame Riot the band also took the audience favorite award.

That makes two Pierce County bands headed to the finals. Shogun Barbie competed but didn’t make it past the semi-finals and Gig Harbor’s I for Eye will compete on Saturday.
