It’s organ at noon, R&B, laser show and more happenings today and this weekend

Listen to the sounds of the renowned pipe organ when Mark Brombaugh plays today at 12:10 p.m. Take a lunch break for an hour of serene music at Christ Episcopal Church, 310 N. K St., Tacoma. A donation will be collected at the door. 253-383-1569

The platinum-selling American R&B and soul singer-songwriter, record producer, and instrumentalist, Lyfe Jennings will be performing his “music is a conscience” at 8 tonight at Emerald Queen Casino. Tickets are $20-$60 and available through Ticketmaster.

The Laser Dome at Pacific Science Center at Seattle Center brings you Laser Skrillex with colors and imagery all mixed live by a team of laser artists. The show is 10:30 p.m. today and Saturday with tickets at $10.74. Purchase yours by phone, 800-664-8775, online at or at the Pacific Science Center box office.

Get a jump on honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at Sharon McGavick Center, 4500 Steilacoom Blvd. SW in Lakewood. The free event will feature a variety of performers, including readings by the winners of the Clover Park School District MLK essay contest. The featured speaker will be Sam Mitsui, representing the Japanese-American 442nd Regimental Combat Team of WWII. It’s from 10 a.m.-noon.
