Tacoma attorney competes on ‘Jeopardy’ Wednesday

Wednesday update: Tonight’s show will be on KOMO-TV (4) at 7:30 p.m.

Tacoma attorney Mike Malaier will compete on an episode of “Jeopardy” on Wednesday. For now, he can’t reveal whether he was a one-shot wonder or the next Ken Jennings.

“I’m definitely on tomorrow and what happens after that I’m not supposed to talk about.

Malaier is a Tacoma bankruptcy attorney. I asked him if that would make it doubly embarrassing if he had gone bankrupt playing Jeopardy.

“Yes, it would have. I never even put the two together until now.”

WSU prof and ‘Decoded’ co-star Buddy Levy to appear at ECCC

Buddy Levy is a TV star, author and WSU English professor. Today, Emerald City Comicon announced the co-star of “Brad Meltzer’s Decoded” on The History Channel will be appearing at the upcoming Emerald City Comicon in March.

ECCC will take place on March 1-3 at the Washington State Convention Center and Levy will appear all three days.

In “Decoded” Levy and company travel the globe in search of answers to longstanding mysteries and legends including the Lincoln assassination, our own D.B. Cooper mystery, secret societies and, of course, UFOs.

Sigh. I’m surprised Bigfoot isn’t on the list.

‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Thrones’ star Natalia Tena to appear at Emerald City Comicon

British actress Natalia Tena, known for her roles in the “Harry Potter” films and HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” is the fourth celebrity guest announced for next year’s Emerald City Comicon.

The pop culture extravaganza will take place March 1-3 at the Washington State Convention Center. Tena will appear all three days.

Harry Potter fans know Tena as the mysterious Tonks in “The Order of the Phoenix,” “The Half-Blood Prince” and “The Deathly Hallows” 1 and 2. She currently can be seen on the hit HBO series “Game of Thrones” playing the wildling Osha.

Tyler Perry – fed up with bootleggers and ticket fees – cancels his KeyArena show

Tyler Perry has always done things his way, most noticeably bypassing the Hollywood movie making system. Now, the comedic iconoclast is fighting back against the bloated show ticket system and the internet scalpers who pose as accredited ticket vendors.

On Monday Perry announced he is canceling his Madea Gets A Job tour including an Oct. 25 stop at KeyArena because of “circumstances that I can’t control.”

Lady Gaga fills in the details on her Tacoma show

We announced a few days ago that Lady Gaga was bringing her 2013 tour to the Tacoma Dome. Now we have the official details on the Born This Way Ball.

She kicks off the tour in Vancouver on Jan. 11 and then hits Tacoma on Monday, Jan. 14. Tickets go On Sale Friday, Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. at
