Buddy Levy is a TV star, author and WSU English professor. Today, Emerald City Comicon announced the co-star of “Brad Meltzer’s Decoded” on The History Channel will be appearing at the upcoming Emerald City Comicon in March.

ECCC will take place on March 1-3 at the Washington State Convention Center and Levy will appear all three days.

In “Decoded” Levy and company travel the globe in search of answers to longstanding mysteries and legends including the Lincoln assassination, our own D.B. Cooper mystery, secret societies and, of course, UFOs.

Sigh. I’m surprised Bigfoot isn’t on the list.

“Decoded” is currently prepping a 2-hour special on “End of Days” set to air in December, just before the demise of the world as predicted by many (mostly producers of junk science TV).

Me? I’m not losing sleep over it. And, since he’s booked for ECCC in 2013, neither apparently is Levy.

Here’s more from the announcement:

Levy is also an established author, having penned several books including River of Darkness: Francisco Orellana’s Legendary Voyage of Death and Discovery Down the Amazon (Bantam Dell, 2011); Conquistador: Hernan Cortes, King Montezuma, and the Last Stand of the Aztecs (Bantam Dell, 2008); American Legend: The Real-Life Adventures of David Crockett (Putnam, 2005, Berkley Books, 2006); and Echoes On Rimrock: In Pursuit of the Chukar Partridge (Pruett, 1998).

As a freelance journalist he has covered adventure sports and lifestyle/travel subjects around the world, including several Eco-Challenges and other adventure expeditions in Argentina, Borneo, Europe, Greenland, Morocco, and the Philippines. His magazine articles and essays have appeared in Backpacker, Big Sky Journal, Couloir, Discover, High Desert Journal, Poets & Writers, River Teeth, Ski, Trail Runner, Utne Reader, TV Guide, and VIA.

Levy is also a clinical associate professor of English at Washington State University, and lives in northern Idaho with his wife Camie, his children Logan and Hunter, and his black Labs Dugan and CJ.

Joining Levy at ECCC 2013 will be previously announced guests Sir Patrick Stewart (Captain Jean-Luc Picard in “Star Trek The Next Generation,” Dr. Charles Xavier from the “X-Men films”), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian from “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi”) and Walter Koenig (Chekov from classic “Star Trek”) and Natalia Tena (“Harry Potter” and “Game of Thrones”).

Tickets for Emerald City Comicon 2013 are on sale now at and local comic book stores.
