NOTE: I screwed up and posted this a week early. My profound apologies to those of you who went last Saturday looking for this. However, I have it from the source this will be Saturday, August 25.

I’m a regular at the Proctor Farmers’ Market and I can vouch it’s about as “green” as a place can get. But this Saturday it’s going to get even greener.

The market is holding its second annual Green Day, a celebration of green living, on Saturday.

Workshops will cover:
– Green home remodeling
– Electric vehicles
– Canning
– Raising backyard chickens
– Worm bin composting

There will be demonstrations on:
– Solar devices
– Ways to reduce home heating costs
– “Greening” schools

Music and kids’ crafts will also be featured. The Girls Scouts will be hosting green activities for kids all day.

The green themed booths will all be in one section of the market.

Proctor Farmers’ Market Green Day
When: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25
Where: Proctor Farmers’ Market, N. Proctor and 27th Street in Tacoma
Information: www.proctorfarmersmarket.com, 253-961-3666
