Sexuality was the theme of tonight’s episode of “The Glee Project” and Tacoma singer Nellie Veitenheimer brought it.
At the top of the show Veitenheimer, 20, admitted the theme made her nervous. And that she was a virgin. And that she’s never seen a man naked.
Veitenheimer may be the first virgin in reality show history. She makes me proud to be a Tacoman.
“Glee” cast member Naya Rivera (Santana) was the guest mentor on the show. Rivera told Veitenheimer she needed to get over that nervousness.
Meanwhile Aylin was a little too enthusiastic about the week’s theme while once again bringing up how she comes from a conservative Muslim family. And Tyler blamed his every deficiency on transitioning from female to male. OK we get it. She’s a Muslim. He’s TG. Let’s move on people.
Tonight’s homework assignment was Color Me Badd’s “I Wanna Sex You Up.” Contestant Charlie won that one.
Veitenheimer had more nervousness during rehearsals but she was self aware of her mental obstacles.
She must have figured it out. Veitenheimer stepped up with some great acting and moves on the cast music video. They performed “Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon Five in a mash-up with “Milkshake.”
“The Glee Project” head honchos were impressed with Veitenheimer’s transformation from Nervous Nellie to Naughtie Nellie. “On the shoot all of a sudden it clicked and you became the sexiest thing in the room,” the choreographer said. Veitenheimer was number one on the callback list. The win comes one week after winning a one-on-one session with Cory Monteith.
Contestant Tyler was eliminated at the end of the show. This didn’t come as a surprise as he’s been a perennial bottom three placer. Series creator Ryan Murphy had kept Tyler on this long because he found Tyler’s change of gender a brave move. But in the end even Murphy couldn’t get past the fact that Tyler was just not as good as the rest of the contestants.
