You may have read here that Tacoma’s Mandolin Cafe may close because it has a new landlord. The deal isn’t done yet and even if it does the cafe may relocate.

My colleagues in the TNT’s business section will report on the official word when we get it. I’ll try to keep you updated on entertainment events. The cafe, at 3923 S. 12th St., is a popular spot for not only local but touring musicians and performers.

On Saturday local folk/rock group James Coates & The Lost Souls are having an album release and tour kick off party there from 6-11 p.m.

And the people behind Tacoma Flamenca want you to know their “Salsa Flamenca Night” will go on at the Mandolin on Saturday, July 7 at 7 p.m. In addition to the two-hour music and Flamenco dance show the cafe will offer Cuban and Spanish tapas, sangria and more.

General admission for the event is $8. Children 12 and under are free. For tickets in advance:
