Tacoma’s garage rock heroes the Sonics are returning to their hometown July 27 for a concert at the Pantages Theater. The band agreed to kick off Tacoma’s annual LouieFest, a two-day arts festival that this year will be held at the new LeMay-America’s Car Museum.

The original Sonics are nothing less than an icon to the city that birthed them, and the punks of the Puget Sound return to Tacoma after regrouping in 2007 and touring venues in Europe and Asia.

Tickets are on sale at the Broadway Center Box Office, ranging from $35 to $75. To purchase tickets, call the box office at 253-591-5894 or toll-free at 800-291-7593, in person at 901 Broadway in Tacoma’s Theater District, or online at www.broadwaycenter.org
