First, the good news: Rapper Pitbull is performing at Joint Base Lewis-McChord on Thursday. Now, the bad news: Forget about seeing him if you don’t have access to the base.
Pitbull, whose real name is Armando Perez, apparently is so big now he has more than one nickname: Mr. 305 and Mr. Worldwide. Whatever you call him he’ll be performing in a free show for JBLM soldiers, airmen and their families (18 and over only).
Pitbull has collaborated with T-Pain, Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer. He racked up five nominations for this year’s Billboard Music Awards. His single “Back in Time” will be in the new “Men in Black III” film. The music video is one long ad for the song, the movie, Voli vodka and the Ford Motor Company.
The 7:30 p.m. show, at Main Memorial Stadium, is sponsored by Voli Light Vodka which calls itself “the world’s first low calorie vodka infused with natural flavors” and is co-owned by Pitbull. The show will open with music by DJ Chino and a performance from the Miami Dolphin Cheerleaders (Pitbull is based in Miami.) Doors open at 4:30 p.m.
The show is for 18 year olds and over and requires a DOD ID card plus an advance ticket. Get more information and find out where to get tickets here.
