It all starts tomorrow: Three days of pop culture fandemonium at Emerald City Comicon.

Read my interview with George Takei here.

Jon Bernthal
Tomorrow, we’ll publish an interview with Jon Bernthal of AMC’s “The Walking Dead.”

All weekend I’ll be blogging from ECCC and on Sunday I’ll interview James and Oliver Phelps on stage at 1 p.m. They’re the Weasley twins from the “Harry Potter” films.

Jason Momoa

In addition to Takei, Bernthal and the Phelps men other media stars include “Battlestar Galatica’s” Edward James Olmos and “Game of Thrones’ ” Jason Momoa. Most will be speaking at fan panels, signing autographs and posing for fan photos.

More than 200 comic artists and creators will be on hand for signing and selling. Several voice talent actors will be appearing, including John DiMaggio and Billy West from “Futurama.”

Hundreds of workshops, seminars and social events leave no hour untouched during Comicon. There’s a seminar on geek stand-up comedy, an adult origami session, a seminar on creating killer villains and a “Star Wars” versus “Star Trek” dance-off.

There will be 20,000 square feet of mixed gaming including pinball and arcade games.

A fleet of DeLoreans will take actress Lea Thompson to a screening of “Back To The Future” on Saturday night. Thompson will participate in a Q&A at the 9 p.m. show at the SIFF Cinema at the Uptown, 511 Queen Anne Ave. N., Seattle. The event is $25. Go to for details.

Film director Kevin Smith and actor Jason Mewes will record their comedy podcast “Jay & Silent Bob Get Old” live at 7 p.m. Sunday. This event requires a separate $40 ticket. Get details at
