Strap on your skates: The Dockyard Dames are gearing up for their season opener on Saturday.

Tacoma’s not-for-profit roller derby league, Dockyard Derby Dames, are heading to the track at Pierce College. They’re calling their sixth season opener “a night of rivalries, rematches and retribution.” What more could you ask for from roller derby?

Saturday’s double header starts off with the Marauding Mollys battling season 5 champions The Trampires. Following that the Hellbound Homewreckers take on the Femme Fianna.

It’s a family-friendly event – with a beer garden. Tickets can be found at Brown Paper Tickets.
