It’s going to be band versus band next month when the Boys & Girls Clubs hosts a local music competition.

Entries are now being accepted at the Cheney Family Boys & Girls Club in Gig Harbor for Battle of the Bands on January 28. The grand prize will be a three song demo CD recording session at Tacoma’s Pacific Studios.

The event is open to the public with doors at 6 p.m. Admission is $5.

Here are the qualifications:
* The event is open to all bands whose members reside in Pierce, Kitsap, or Mason Counties.
* All band members must be under the age of 19 (exception: one band member may 20 years old).
* Bands who hope to be selected for the final competition must send a CD of their music to the Cheney Family Boys & Girls Club no later than December 30, 2011 at 8502 Skanise Avenue, Gig Harbor, WA, 98332.
* Three bands will be selected to perform at the final competition in front of a live audience.
