There’s a celebration of the repeal of prohibition tonight in Olympia. And, yes, it involves cocktail imbibing.
But the Repeal Day Celebration, sponsored by the Olympia Film Society, also features pre-Prohibition movies, burlesque and live music.
Prohibition ended on this date in 1933 and folks in Olympia are going to celebrate in style. If you dress up in period clothing you’ll be automatically entered to win a night out on the town.
Admission includes one craft cocktail. Swing bartender Bradford Knutson says they’ll be featuring Four Roses Bourbon, Voyager Gin, Pacifique Absinthe, Martin Miller’s gin, Gran Duque D’Alba Brandy and Corrido Tequila, to name a few. In addition to Knutson bartenders from Mercato and Waterstreet Cafe will also be creating Prohibition era cocktails
Entertainment includes jazz from the Greta Jane Quartet and Tush Burlesque.
