Take a break from the hustle and bustle of modern holidays and step back in time to experience the sounds of penny whistles, the aroma of ginger biscuits, Christmas dances and the slower pace of the Christmas season in 1855 at the 19th Century Christmas at Fort Nisqually this weekend. Re-enactors portray the daily life of workers from many cultures who lived at this historic site and will share stories, cookies, dancing and the carrying in of the Yule log. Hours are 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at the fort in Point Defiance Park.
