Live Nation announced today that legendary pop star Prince will bring his Welcome 2 America tour to Tacoma on Dec. 19. Prince has not performed in the Seattle-Tacoma area since 2004.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 19) for the Tacoma Dome show. Prices were not immediately available through Ticketmaster or LiveNation.com.
In its news release announcing the show, Live Nation calls Prince “one of the most prolific and groundbreaking artists of our time whose recorded music, live performances and powerful artistry have affected music and pop culture like no other.”
Rolling Stone ranked Prince No. 27 on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. His hits include “I Wanna Be Your Lover,” “When Doves Cry,” “Purple Rain,” “Gett Off,” “Kiss” and “Let’s Go Crazy.”
The 2004 Seattle show was amazing! You can’t imagine until you’ve been to one of his shows. A most sexy, original, humble and respectful entertainer. I’m there again.
