He’s a “Daily Show” correspondent, co-star on HBO’s “Bored to Death” and the former PC man from those Apple ads. But did you know John Hodgman is also an author?

The writer of “The Areas of My Expertise” and “More Information Than You Require” will be at Seattle’s Town Hall for his third and final installment in complete world knowledge: “That is All.” That book goes on sale Nov. 1.

Hodgman describes himself as a deranged millionaire and survival expert, which sets the tone for the book filled with completely falsified facts.

HBO’s “Bored to Death” is one of my favorite TV shows and Hodgman is always a delight to watch on it, stealing every scene he’s in. His publisher sent me an advance copy of his new book and it’s as fun as the first two. It’s hard to miss that it’s the third in the series: The new book begins on page 607.

This highly irreverent volume covers everything from mustache etiquette (Twirling is just fine. It’s the tying people to train tracks that’s the problem) to taboos of the sea (Never say the word “sea” at sea. Instead, refer to “The Moist Murderess” or “The Salty Rum That Swallows You” or “The Land That Moves and Kills.”)

It’s all done in chunks, boxes and charts making it easy to jump in and out of.

John Hodgman
