LeMay (ACM) to have its first event in September

This is an artist's conception of the finished "LeMay - America's Car Museum." Reality may vary.
It won’t open until May, 2012 but here’s your first chance to see the inside of that odd looking building going up next to the Tacoma Dome: LeMay – America’s Car Museum.

I’m still getting used to that name myself but no matter. The curvilinear 165,000 square-foot building will be far enough along in construction to host its first event on Sept. 24: “Hard Hat & High Heels.”

The preview party and fundraiser will feature a cocktail reception, dinner, entertainment, live auction and a chance to see some of the exhibits. Robb Weller, TV game show veteran and former host of “Entertainment Tonight,” will be
the MC.

The event doesn’t come cheap: Tickets are $175 per person.

When complete, ACM will feature galleries, an educational center, library, a 3.5-acre show field, theater, café, banquet hall and meeting facilities.

Tickets for the event are on sale now at www.lemaymuseum.org or contact Suzanne Hight at suzzane@zspecialevents.com.
