A total of 381 schools across the state are recipients of the Washington Achievement Award for 2012. Included on the list are more than two dozen from Pierce County. (For a complete list of awardees, click here.)
The awards, now in their fourth year, are sponsored by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education. Award winners based on both the state’s Achievement Index and on federal criteria.
Schools are recognized for being top performers in seven categories:
