Oregonian: Records expose Rudy Crew’s spending habits

Rudy Crew was Tacoma’s school superintendent for a few years in the 1990s before departing for a job as head of the New York City school system.

The Oregonian writes about public records that show how, during his recent year as Oregon’s chief education officer, he billed the state for personal travel expenses and tried to get the state to pay for perks such as first-class plane tickets.
