Judges have named seven regional winners in the 40th Annual High School Art Show – including one from Henderson Bay High School in Gig Harbor and another from Emerald Ridge High School on South Hill. The competition is sponsored by the Puget Sound Educational Service District, which offers support services to school districts in the region.

Haley Wade from Henderson Bay is one of the regional winners. She won for her digitally altered photograph, titled “Childhood.”

The Emerald Ridge student asked that his or her name not be publicized, according to a news release. The work is a ceramic piece titled “Watcha Got in There?”

Regional winners will move on to the upcoming Annual Superintendent’s High School Art Show in Olympia, May 17.

South Sound students also received a number of other awards in the competition.

You can learn more, and view all 96 entries, at www.psesd.org

The student artwork will also be on display for public viewing at the Puget Sound ESD headquarters in Renton until March 24.

A reception and awards ceremony will be held there from 2-4:00 p.m. March 24, for all participating artists, their teachers, families and friends.
