The Tacoma School Board will meet with its elementary school principals and, in a separate discussion, talk about the ramifications of the state’s new charter school law, when it gathers this Thursday.

The discussion with principals is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday on the fourth floor auditorium at the district’s Central Administration Building, 601 S. Eighth St., Tacoma. A second discussion, that will include charter schools, is set to begin at 6 p.m.

The meeting is a study session, so no action is anticipated. Last week, board members said they wanted to take a look at what it might mean to become a charter school authorizer under the initiative approved by voters in November.
