Marissa Meyer, author of “Scarlet,” will be at the Anna Lemon Wheelock Library in Tacoma’s Proctor District for a book talk and signing at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16.

Meyer’s Lunar Chronicles takes popular Grimm’s Fairy Tales characters and gives them a new home in an action-packed sci-fi fantasy with romance and intrigue. Her first book, “Cinder,” featured a cyborg mechanic. In “Scarlet,” Book 2 of the Lunar Chronicles, Cinder’s story intersects with that of Scarlet Benoit and a street fighter named Wolf. Sound familiar?

The remaining two books in the series feature a reimagined Rapunzel and Snow White.
