		<description><![CDATA[<a class="postimage" href="http://blog.thenewstribune.com/crime/2012/04/15/routine-traffic-stop-in-yelm-turns-up-stolen-property/"><img src="http://blog.thenewstribune.com/crime/wp-content/blogs.dir/12/files/2012/04/IMG_1326-200x150.jpg" width="200" height="150" /></a><p>A Washington State Patrol trooper found more than just a driver without a seat belt on during a traffic stop Saturday afternoon in Yelm. </p> <p>The State Patrol reported that a trooper had pulled over a car for a seat belt violation in Yelm at 1:11 p.m. &#8220;While approaching the vehicle the trooper noticed several steel grates and pieces of metal in the back seat and requested a Yelm officer to assist,&#8221; a news release stated.</p> <p>As the trooper spoke with the driver, the Yelm officer arrived and said he took a report at 8 a.m. about 168 feet of <a href="http://blog.thenewstribune.com/crime/2012/04/15/routine-traffic-stop-in-yelm-turns-up-stolen-property/" class="ellipsis">&#8230;</a></p>

West on allegations of first-degree assault, first-degree kidnapping, car theft and felony harassment, the Sheriff&#8217;s Office reported today.</p> <p>Investigators believe West severely beat his girlfriend, held her against her will and dragged her into her house off 158th Avenue Southeast near Lawrence Lake on Thursday. He allegedly threatened to kill her and her adult son and strangled her until she went unconscious.</p> <p>West allegedly took the woman&#8217;s minivan and drove off.
