Man charged in 2011 deadly Canyon Road crash is arraigned

A 23-year-old Spanaway man charged in a deadly crash last year on Canyon Road made his first court appearance this morning.

Christopher Stuart Doty pleaded not guilty to charges of vehicular homicide and failure to have an ignition interlock device.  Pierce County Superior Court Commissioner Meagan Foley ordered Doty held in Pierce County Jail in lieu of $100,000.

Prosecutors allege Doty was driving an Oldsmobile Cierra when it crashed about 9 p.m. Oct. 1 in the 18500 block of Canyon Road. The car’s passenger, 25-year-old Dylan T. Duff, died.

Deputies arrest man wanted in crash that killed soccer player on Canyon Road

A 20-year-old man wanted in a deadly crash on Canyon Road in September has been arrested.

Brandon D. Fair surrendered himself to authorities and was booked into Pierce County Jail about 11:30 p.m. Monday, according to the online jail roster. He should make his first court appearance today.

Last week, Pierce County prosecutors charged Fair with vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and driving with a suspended or revoked license in the Sept. 20 crash that killed Clara Vallone, a well-liked junior and soccer player at Graham-Kapowsin High School.

Man wanted in September crash on I-5 is arrested

Law enforcement officials have arrested a 19-year-old man accused of killing an acquaintance in September while driving a stolen pickup truck on Interstate 5 near Nisqually.

Investigators received information that Cody J. Coffinger was in the Cowlitz County area. He was arrested Tuesday without incident at a home and will be brought back to Pierce County today to face charges in the September crash, the State Patrol and Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office reported.

Man pleads guilty in 2010 Spanaway crash

A 22-year-old man has pleaded guilty to causing a wreck that killed his passenger last year in Spanaway.

Leroy E. Johnson faces two years, seven months to three years, five years in prison when he’s sentenced Dec. 9.

Johnson pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of vehicular homicide for the Aug. 7, 2010, crash that killed 21-year-old Samuel Rees Powell.

Prosecutors alleged Johnson’s car ran a red light at the intersection of 224th Street East and 46th Avenue East. The car struck a minivan.

Charges filed against young man in deadly August crash in Buckley

Pierce County prosecutors have filed charges against an 18-year-old man accused of crashing his car in August in Buckley, then leaving his mortally wounded passenger behind.

Ryan R. Bogue was charged Monday with vehicular homicide and failure to remain at the scene of a deadly accident. A bench warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Trial begins for mom charged in young sons’ deaths after Monster Truck show

The trial began today for a Bonney Lake mother accused of killing her two young sons in a car crash on Tacoma’s Bay Street curve in January.

Prosecutors have charged Jayme Lynn Davis, 42, with two counts of vehicular homicide in deaths of 8-year-old Jared and 11-year-old Jordan Davis as they headed home from the Monster Truck Show at the Tacoma Dome.

Davis was driving south on Bay Street about 10:35 p.m. Jan. 16 when she apparently took the corner too fast and her car went over the concrete lane divider in the 2100 block, Tacoma police reported.

UPDATED: Sumner man charged in deadly Pacific crash early Monday

Pierce County prosecutors have charged a 29-year-old Sumner man with vehicular homicide after a deadly crash early Monday in Pacific.

Joseph Patrick McNeil pleaded not guilty on the charges this afternoon. Pierce County Superior Court Commissioner Patrick Oishi ordered McNeil held in lieu of $75,000 bail. If released from jail, he also was ordered to be put on electric home monitoring and alcohol monitoring, prosecutors reported.

Prosecutors allege McNeil was driving a 4×4 westbound on Stewart Road Southwest just before 2 a.m. Monday when he crossed into oncoming lanes in the 100 block and hit a small white car

Man pleads guilty to killing Graham skateboarder

A 31-year-old Puyallup man faces between two years, seven months and three years, five months in prison after pleading guilty today to causing a wreck that killed a 14-year-old skateboarder last year.

Darrell Andrew Ross pleaded to one count of vehicular homicide in the Dec. 27 death of Daniel Morse, a Bethel Junior High School student.

Ross is to be sentenced July 15.

Pierce County deputy prosecutor Tim Jones said he would recommend a low-end sentence for Ross because he accepted responsibility for the crime.
