Police say man fled in rowboat after trying to burglarize University Place home

A man accused of trying to burglarize a University Place house and row away from the scene Monday made it to shore, and was greeted by police when he did.

The 44-year-old Roy man, who was on bail on another burglary charge, was in jail again Monday night after he allegedly tried to burglarize a home in the 2400 block of Day Island Boulevard and then use a rowboat to flee.

Police looking for suspects in robbery of University Place office

University Place police are looking for two suspects in the robbery of the Country Prime Foods office Aug. 17.

Two masked men allegedly entered the office about 9:30 p.m. on 70th Avenue Court West and demanded cash, police said.

One man threw an employee to the ground and held a semi-automatic gun to his head, police said.

The other suspect ransacked the office, police said.

The two allegedly took the employee’s wallet and then fled on foot.

Police looking for suspect in May University Place bleach attack

University Place police are looking for Deara Lewis, 22, who allegedly threw bleach in another woman’s face at a convenience store in May, because the victim testified against her baby’s father.

She has been charged with intimidating a witness, first-degree robbery and second-degree assault.

Lewis is five-feet, one inch and 170 pounds.
