Police asking public for help finding suspects in fatal Lakewood shooting

Lakewood police are asking the public to help identify those responsible for the fatal shooting of 32-year-old Jaime Diaz-Solis Nov. 12.

Diaz-Solis, of Apatzingan, Michoacan, Mexico, was killed inside an apartment in the 5300 block of San Francisco Avenue Southwest in Lakewood.

Witnesses told police three black males ran from the area at the time of the shooting.

The victim was involved in drug trafficking, and a large amount of heroin was missing from his apartment after the shooting, police said.

Police ask for help to find teen charged with murder

Tacoma police are asking for the public’s help to find one of two 16-year-old boys charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a Tacoma man earlier this month.

A felony warrant was issued for James “JJ” Stimson Jr. last week.He is 5 feet, 6 inches, 140 pounds, and is known to frequent the Salishan area of Tacoma, according to police.

Officers say he should be considered armed and dangerous.David Watson, 45, died Nov. 18 after being shot once in the torso.

Police seek beer bandits

Tacoma police are searching for a pair of suspects in a series of convenience-store robberies.

The thief typically sought money from the cash register; more often, he took beer, cigarettes, lighters and cheap cigars.

The six incidents took place between Oct. 25 and Nov. 6. The robberies followed the same pattern: a man wearing a hoodie and a bandanna over his face, armed with a handgun. Sometimes the man brought an accomplice.

Police looking for robbers of Tacoma convenience stores

Tacoma police are asking for the public’s help to identify suspects in a series of at least four armed robberies of convenience stores in the city in the past several weeks.

One or two suspects armed with a handgun demanded cash from a clerk in each of the robberies.

The suspects are described as white or Hispanic males with thin builds, ages 20 to 25 , and between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches.

Detectives look for suspect in two armed robberies of Puyallup-area pharmacies

Detectives are looking for a suspect in two armed robberies of Puyallup-area pharmacies that happened this summer.

The man, in his 20s, allegedly climbed over the counter of the pharmacies, forced the employees to the floor at gunpoint and demanded prescription painkillers, according to Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers. He put the medicine in a large bag and ran out the fire exits in both robberies, Crime Stoppers said.

Man accused of trying to kill wife in front of kids arraigned

Joshua Emanuel Howard of Tacoma pleaded not guilty today to charges of attempted murder in the second degree and unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree, after prosecutors said he tried to kill his estranged wife in front of their children July 6.

His bail was set at $1 million.

Howard shot at his wife as she was preparing to leave the house with the kids, according to charging papers.

He said he loved her and “I gotta kill you,” before firing the bullet, which lodged in the stairs, the papers state.

Howard turned himself into police Saturday.

Police looking for suspects in robbery of University Place office

University Place police are looking for two suspects in the robbery of the Country Prime Foods office Aug. 17.

Two masked men allegedly entered the office about 9:30 p.m. on 70th Avenue Court West and demanded cash, police said.

One man threw an employee to the ground and held a semi-automatic gun to his head, police said.

The other suspect ransacked the office, police said.

The two allegedly took the employee’s wallet and then fled on foot.

Police makes arrests related to home invasion robberies that appeared to target Asian families

Authorities arrested multiple people this afternoon as part of an investigation into a number of home invasion robberies that began in December and appeared to target Asian families, Tacoma police said.

Detectives and SWAT teams from Tacoma and the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department served search warrants on four places, police said.

Those warrants were related to the investigation, as well as other drug-related and weapon-related crimes, police said.

All arrested suspects have local gang ties, police said.

They are all Asian, and appeared to target Asian families known to have valuables in their homes, police said.
