Heavy snow expected in Cascades, Olympics today through Tuesday

A winter storm warning is in effect from 10 a.m. Monday until 4 a.m. Wednesday for the Cascades and Olympics, according to the National Weather Service.

Affected locations include Mount Baker, Stevens Pass, Snoqualmie Pass, White Pass and Paradise on Mount Rainer, meteorologists said.

An additional 2 to 4 feet is possible. The heaviest accumulation is expected in the central Cascades near Mount Rainier.

What’s that falling from the sky?

It looks like there might be some snowlike substance falling from the sky in Tacoma.

From the windows at The News Tribune, we can see something coming down. There’s some debate as to whether it’s rain or light snow or something in between.

If it’s snow, it’s certainly not big, fat flakes.
